A new study by the National Cancer Institute (in the US, that is) concludes that eating red meat significantly increases your risk of dying prematurely.

They say progress is made in small steps.
I don’t necessarily subscribe to that theory. I think progress is made in leaps and bounds. The corollary, by the way, is that all progress is made by unreasonable people (G. B. Shaw). Shaw said “unreasonable men”, but I think we can assume he meant “people”.
