There’s a very interesting article in the New York Times about how the population of Right Whales (Eubalaena glacialis) has increased over the last few decades.
These magnificent animals are making something of a comeback, which is very welcome news, especially to this Norwegian who is strongly opposed to commercial whaling.

About 9 months ago I saw a program on TV about the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I was fascinated and remember thinking I would really like to visit it someday.
On Sunday, January 21 2007 I did. And I wasn’t disappointed!
